Any funny marketing ideas for a usb gadgets store? I have an online usb gadgets store and I would like to promote it in a funny way... any interesting ideas?

Do gadgets charged through USB chargers consume more electricity? We have phones and mp3 players whose batteries are recharged through a computer's USB port. We also have side lights for laptops that are powered on when connected to the USB. Do these gadgets make the computer use more energy and electricity, or is it more efficient because you don't need another (external) power source?

What's the best cord organization system for gadgets that need to plug into your USB ports? I have 4 USB ports in the back of my computer, but I also have about 15 devices that need to be plugged in. 3 printers, mouse, keyboard, 2 different types of scanners, 2 digital cameras, 2 PDA's, musical keyboard, voice recorder... and I'm sure I'm forgetting some, but you get the idea. I'm forever unplugging stuff and trying to figure out which cord goes to which. I've labelled the cords with masking tape and written the device names on the tape, but it's still a mess. Anyone else have any ideas or has anyone seen a USB organizing device for this type of problem? Thanks for your help.

how can i connect window sidebar gadget to usb wlan adapter to detect network signal status? i have windows sidebar on my laptop that can detect the network signal status. if i use the inbuilt wireless adapter these gadgets working but when i switch over to wireless usb adapter these gadgets cease to function that they no longer respond to network signal status no longer indicate

Some of the things I have seen were an actually cup holder for computers, a toaster that fits in to a 5.25" bay drive, a usb heat/cooling drink pad, a usb mini-fridge (only fits one can), usb-powered fans, etc. what other kind of crazy or unusual computer devices have you seen?

Can a USB SmartButton be reprogrammed for a different site? I received a USB SmartButton, a light up USB device that supposedly will take me directly to the site of the company that sent it to me. Here's the thing - I could care less about that site, but would like to use it for another website. Christmas presents - help, what to get for the man who has everything ? I'm at a loss ! My husband practically lives on his PC and I can't think what to get. The PC itself is like a year old and has already been upgraded beyond belief, he has external hard drives, card readers, web cams, wireless mouse,photo printers, digital cameras, scanners etc etc etc He's not into new games or USB gadgets like lamps and stuff. USB/eSATA to IDE/SATA converter? I wanted to get a USB/eSATA to IDE/SATA converter, but I am having a bit of trouble finding them. I absolutely must take both 3.5 and 2.5 (I think that was the measurement) HDDs. Meaning it must take laptop and desktop hard drives. And it must have atleast USB and IDE ports, I would really like it to have an eSATA also, which would be kind of nice becuase I know there is a big speed difference. It does not really need to have a SATA port, but if you can find one that does not cost too much with the SATA, that would be nice too. Where can I find a High Speed version of the PIC32 USB starter board? I need to develop a USB gadget, and I need a USB development board with two USB ports for this (beside the debug port). Would someone kindly help me with this Motorola SYN0717A Bluetooth USB Dongle I bought on woot.com...? I got suckered into buying this usb gadget that was really inexpensive, but when it arrived in the mail there was nothing but the USB adapter; no driver disc, no installation guide, literally nothing else. Why do some devices refuse to work in the front panel usb ports? They're connected straight to the motherboard but somehow the gadget can tell the difference and will only work with the rear ports. I've come across this many times with many different computers and peripherals...

What's the cheapest gadget with USB host ability that can run Linux? I'm looking for a portable gadget (like a PDA or gaming device) that I can use to control a USB tethered digital camera using a free Linux application, so I can write a script to shoot complicated series of photographs. I'm looking for the cheapest gadget of any sort - used on ebay or wherever - that is small, battery powered, can serve as a USB host, and run Linux. I don't care if it's an old PDA with 2 MB of memory and a 160x160 B&W screen. As long as it's cheap. There's no point in suggesting a new iPaq. And I need to be able to strap it to a digital camera and shoot hand-held, so no laptops or even netbooks. Also, don't suggest a device that's only capable of USB peripheral mode, it needs to serve as the USB host of the camera. A PDA, gaming device, cell phone, MP3 player, or whatever is fine. It doesn't need to ship with Linux, as long as there's a Linux distro I can run on it without having to start modifying a bunch of things to make it work - it needs a proven Linux variety for it. Any ideas?

Should a USB powered gadget be PAT tested if the computer has already been done.?

Is there such a GADGET as a USB to VGA adapter/cable THAT DOESNT NEED DRIVERS? I am trying to fix this Dell, the guy ripped the VGA cord out the back destroying the onboard port. there is no AGP, only PCI available so I put a few different PCI video cards in. no good, I have to disable the onboard video through the bios (which i can not see beceause there is no video) and there are no video related jumper settings on this mobo. is there such a thing as a VGA video cable, even one that provides terrible quality and black and white, that i can plug inro the USB? It must work WITHOUT installing any drivers. thanks for your imput. PS. I already tried removing the battery, resetting the CMOS jumper and kicking it. system is a Dell 2350 thought I should mention I already removed the MOBO, trimmed the remaining VGA wires so there are no shorts. system seems to power up nicely without any error beeps, the drives whiz away niceley and i can hear the windows music... just no video.

Trouble with Nokia 5300 usb? Hi everyone. I've just bought a brand new Nokia 5300 that came with all the latest gadgets, including a usb transfer cable. I have the latest version of the Nokia PC Suite on my computer. But everytime I try to connect my phone, even though windows identifies it, I get a message that says I need to insert the CD labelled 'Nokia usb installation disk'. That's all well and good, except I don't have the disk!! Is there another way to fix this problem? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks! It's very good phone, but it came with a bunch of songs that I don't really like, and I want to change them and put my own music on there. I've already visited the site, and like I said I have the latest version of the software. Also, the phone and usb cable are complatible.
