What do I do with a USB hub port that has gone through a power surge? Just a few minutes ago, my iPod USB device didn't work, and a pop-up on the bottom right of my screen appeared, saying the USB device has exceeded the power limits of its hub port. How should I fix this? I pressed reset as it told me to, but it still didn't seem to work. What should I do?
Can I use a standard USB hub to plug in more than 2 controllers in a PS3? I just bought a 40 gig, reverse compatible PS3 last night, the only thing I don't really like about it is that there are only 2 USB ports. I have a USB hub that I use on my laptop, where I can plug in one port but frees up 4 more. Will this work to charge more than two controllers at a time with my PS3?

How do I use a guitar for Rock band without the USB Hub? Ok, so I've had my PS3 for about 6 months, right? It was then stolen :S They left the Rock band game and the drums and everything but the USB hub for the guitar was still in the console when it was stolen. Can anyone help me use it without one? Or help me get a new one? I don't want to go and get another guitar.
Is it necesary to connect the AC power adapter to a USB hub? I just bought a USB hub (Belkin), it includes a AC power adapter to plug it to the wall. The user guides ask to connect the AC power adapter to the USB hub. But I've found that USB hub works well without having to connect the AC power adapter. Is it necesary? What might happen if I don't use it?
Device doesn't work on USB hub but works when directly connected to the computer? I have 2 different devices (a label printer and a digital camara) that work just fine when plugged into one of the USB ports that are built into my computer but don't work when I plug them into my USB hub. I'm out of internal ports (1 for the keyboard/mouse, 1 for the external disk drive, 1 for the USB hub that still has 2 other devices that work on it and 1 for a printer/fax/scanner device). Will getting a PCI USB Card resolve this problem? Or do I need to play musical-USB-port with all the devices until I find a solution that works? Or is there a way to beef this up so that these more lightly used devices WILL work with the hub? The USB Hub is powered and only half full (although that shouldn't matter). As I said, the USB hub is powered. So that isn't the solution. Will a PCI/Internal card be able to provide more power to the label printer?

Where can I download a driver for a generic USB hub? I am running on Windows XP SP2, but when I plug in the cord in the USB slot, it detects it, but it states that I need a driver for it. I have been unsuccessful in finding a driver for it. It is a Compaq 4 slot USB hub. I have looked on Compaq's website, but they have no drivers for it. It also did not include a CD for any drivers. Thanks. I'm sorry for the confusion. My USB hub is from Compaq. It is a plug and play USB hub, but it still will not work because my computer says that I need a driver for it. I have looked on their website, but they do not have a driver for it.
Can a USB hub hook up one peripheral to multiple computers? I need to hook up one keyboard-like peripheral to multiple computers at the same time (so that when I press a key it registers on all computers simultaneously). I know that USB hubs are advertised to hook up a bunch of peripherals to one computer, but can they work the opposite way as well? Any idea how to do this if not?

Would a powered USB hub that is not plugged into the computer charge my iPod? I was wondering if a USB hub with its own power supply would charge my iPod without being plugged into a computer. I want to be able to charge my iPod without toting my laptop around with me, and I don't want to have to buy an iPod wall charger if this would work. Does anybody know if it would work? The iPod is already ran through the hub to the computer, so it isn't going to fry it like one person said.

What is the largest usb hub available? I have found a 49 port hub (Cambrionix in the UK). Does anyone know of a bigger one? Additionally, perhaps, does anyone know a company that could custom design and build a larger one? Thanks Checked out the Thanko 80 port- that is a large charging station and does not handle data. Cool piece of equipment tho.
Is there such a thing as a wireless usb hub that is also battery powered? By wireless usb I don't mean specifically the Wireless usb protocol, but just something that will eliminate the wires connecting my device to the computer. I'm a musician and I'm trying to make a usb-powered midi controller independent of any connections so I can move around during my set. The specific device is an ableton novation launchpad, although I would like to be able to use other equipment at my disposal.
Where can I find a good wireless USB Hub? I'm setting up a home network that I'd like to have several USB devices accessible to multiple computers on - a hard drive and a printer, mainly. However, I'd like access to these to be wireless if at all possible (Bluetooth is no issue, all the laptops in the family have it or have an adapter for it now). Is there a well-priced piece of hardware that will allow me to do this?

USB hub splitter causes flash drives to fail? I hooked up an older USB hub splitter so i could connect multiple devices to my computer. When i tried to plug in a flash drive, the computer said that it did not recognize the device. Now when i try to plug the flash drive into another computer, the computer doesn't automatically detect the drive. Did the hub splitter destroy my flash drive? If not, what can i do to troubleshoot this? I accidently put another one into the same hub splitter and that one doesn't work anymore either.
Is there a USB hub that communicates with a computer via Bluetooth? I have a MacBook Pro, which also serves as my desktop computer. I have various USB devices that i want to use with it (more than Apple's AirPort allows). Convenience is huge for many computer users, so I don't think it lazy to want to bring my laptop home, set it down, and use everything without having to plug in even ONE cable. If what I'm looking for simply doesn't exist, does anyone know of any other "wireless docking" solutions? Thanks.
