what usb hub do you recommend for a western digital external hardrive plug and play?

Which one is better a usb extension or a usb hub ? my usb ports in the front do not work from my pc soo I need usb ports

1. find one that is compatible to the system. Meaning time to do trial and error. This is the best way to find out. Since USB extensions are not hard to find. You may be ale to use the back ones or something until you can get the front ones replaced. You can also get a External Hard Drive to plug into the USB if that is what you are talking about. If you are using a desktop COmputer then you can just pull a lil magic trick and presto with another usb component. If it is a lap top. U can et an USB External cards to do a sub for the Ones in the front.
