Can i charge iPod Touch 2G with USB-Hub (powered by plug) but disconnected from computer?

I want to buy a usb-hub that can charge iPod Touch without the need of computer. Can Belkin : USB 2.0 Plus Hub (4 Port) do that? or maybe someone know something that works (i prefer to buy a usb hub than buy the apple charger that cost almost the same)

1. You should be able to. I mean you can charge an iPod on an xbox I don't see why not.
2. you can but i think it's best if you always use the apple brand chargers...can plug to anything but apple charger only....others might screw it up
