USB hub???

I need 1 but I see that there are 2 different kinds. 1.1 ands 2.0 so what 1 do I need to get? Why do I need 1 with its own power supply ?

1. 2.0 is new usb, its faster...
2. 1.1 is the older slow type, you want to get the 2.0...... Also, when you get a hub, try to get one with an external power supply.
3. Definitely go with the USB 2 as it is faster. You'll want one with a power supply because any devices you connect to it will have to draw power from somewhere. Your desktop/laptop may not have enough power to feed all the ports on your usb hub. I had this problem with a hub I just recently purchased. It was OK for a mouse or a keyboard but that was about all. Learn by MY mistake! Good Luck!
